The Moderns Triumph On The Gold CoastGood On Ya and congrads to Gold Coast rockers
The Moderns, who are the victors of the
MTV Kickstart Gold Coast Heat!
As the Gold Coast representative, The Moderns will now slog it out against 6 other regional finalists at the Kickstart Grand final to be held in Sydney on September 9 2008.
Held at local hotspot
Elsewhere, the Gold Coast foursome,
Samuel John Rees, Andre’ Franco, Willi Hamilton and
Swanny, were voted the favourites by the expert panel of judges –
Susie Patten from
I Heart Hiroshima,
Shaun Wilson from
Radio Metro,
Sam Cleveland from the
Gold Coast Bulletin and
MTV Marketing Manager, Sam Coombes. The Moderns battled it out against Bowser, The Murderettes, Elke and Panther DLX to take the winner’s crown.
Said guest judge Susie Patten from band I Heart Hiroshima, "The Moderns represent the Gold Coast in a really honest fashion. They look the part, sounded great and will do the Gold Coast proud."
On
September 9 the finalists from each city will head to
Sydney to battle city against city during a televised
'Kickstart Final' to be held at iconic
MTV venue,
The Lair.

Voting will commence on September 15 and will be open until October 10.
